Cheese & Veggie Wafflewich
My friends Flora, Kiera, and I made these delicious wafflewiches with cheese and fresh spinach! You can use almost any kind of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, goat, swiss), regular or gluten-free bread, and your favorite vegetable as long as it is thinly sliced.
Ingredients/Materials
2 slices of soft bread (regular or gluten-free)
Slice of your favorite cheese
Spinach leaves or arugula, kale or basil leaves
A wafflemaker
Instructions
Butter wafflemaker
Lay a slice of bread with spread onto wafflemaker, spread side up
Place a slice of cheese onto the above slice of bread
Add some thinly sliced veggies or spinach leaves (one layer)
Place another piece of bread over the ingredients
When wafflemaker indicates it is ready, close lid
After two or three minutes, check your wafflewich
Done when bread is slightly golden brown
Notes:
Best when you use soft bread that is sliced thinly. Other veggies that would work well: thinly sliced bell peppers, basil, arugula, and tomato.
